Key things customers look for in a hotel: report

Most of the customers looking for hotels normally look for these key things, according to the new travel report released today by jumia

  • Parking
  • WIFI
  • Breakfast
  • Ironing
  • Airport Pick up

The report also indicates that constant online campaigns are very crucial in attracting customers in hotel industry. Hotels that engage customer online have advantage over those that do not.

Most of the customers tend to target between 2-3 star hotels in the Kenyan market meaning the market has room for more of such hotels.

In total domestic visitor spending is higher than foreign spending accounting for 59 per cent compared to 41 per cent from foreigners.

Leisure Vs business travel

About 59% of traffic to @JumiaTravelKE comes from computers, 37% mobile and 4% Tablet  meaning that computers still control a large share and hence the need to for marketers to customize their marketing strategies.

The reports also interestingly points out that 67.5% of people travel for leisure while 32.5% travel for business.

It reports that 41% of people who book through the Jumia travel platform are from outside Kenya. 59% of bookings are local.

Nairobi is the leading region in demand in terms of services like conferencing and room bookings
