Sendy customers to share drivers in cost cutting move

In Innovation

Safaricom’s delivery startup Sendy has launched SendyConnect which enables users to share one driver in a move that reduces costs.

This is expected to save users up to 40% on every delivery, helping them to compete with regular bodaboda riders and other arrant firms.

In the process it allows drivers to aggregate multiple orders at once along a common route.

“With SendyConnect, you share a delivery Driver — and the cost — with another Sendy user who has requested a delivery along a similar route,” announced the firm. “You still get Sendy-style convenience, but now, at an even more affordable rate. Just choose the SendyConnect option and get allocated a Driver before pickup.”

“At Sendy, we are on a mission to unlock the potential of Kenya by connecting small businesses with local Drivers across the country.” added the firm. “Our technology platform has the power to transform businesses by making delivery simple, transparent, and affordable.”

The firm has another feature dubbed SendyDirect which is a premium option to get a user their own designated Driver to pick up an order and immediately drop it off at its destination with no stops in between.
