Two new oil and gas discoveries in the dry land of Turkana is set to revolutionise small businesses in Turkana by attracting more capital and businesses that will require services that small businesses can provide.
Africa Oil Corporation and two partners have made more oil discoveries at the northern end of South Lokichar Basin.
Such needs will include supplies of various materials, food stuff, hospitality. Maintenance of vehicles and machines among other things.
Small business entrepreneurs just need to look ahead and identify where they would like to be within five years and begin working towards that goal. The oil investments will also bring in more workers who will inturn needs various goods and services.
The firm says it has discovered 35 metres and 65 metres of net gas and oil pay in two wells it has been drilling in south Lokichar basin.
Among the wells include well 6 and Ngamia-10 which was also drilled in an untested fault compartment. The numerous oil discoveries are seen enhancing the place of Turkana on the map of investors which will lead to a chain of economic activities that will provide a market for various services and goods.

Kenya is also planning the construction of an oil pipeline from Turkana to Lamu at a cost of Sh210 billion which will also create more jobs and spur more demand for services.
As a result of the new find, the Joint Venture partners have decided to extend the current exploration and appraisal campaign by a further three wells.
