Abbas’ company M-Farm gives small scale farmer vital information through text messages via their mobile phone and helps them reach customers. It helps farmers get competitive prices for their products and not lose out to middle men.

She grew up selling coriander and kale and hence the inspiration to improve access to information and expand to the other African countries. She has won several awards in innovation and is listed as of the most outstanding innovators by Quartz Africa.

“As a child, every night before I went to sleep, I would pray to God and ask Him to change me to a boy. Looking back, I realise that I was just a little girl praying to be treated better, to be told you are not limited by the gender role assigned to you,” she wrote.
